At Women Assist, we understand that many women carry the weight of caring for others while quietly navigating their own challenges. Our counselling service is designed to offer you a safe, compassionate space where your experiences are honoured and your wellbeing is prioritised.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, navigating trauma, or simply needing space to reconnect with yourself, you don’t have to do it alone.

How We Can Support You

We provide counselling tailored to women’s lived experiences, including:

  • Trauma and complex PTSD
  • Family and domestic violence recovery
  • Burnout and compassion fatigue
  • Anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm
  • Identity, self-worth, and life transitions
  • Challenges related to caregiving roles
  • Neurodiversity (including ADHD in women)

Our approach is gentle, collaborative, and grounded in deep respect for your story.

Our Approach

At Women Assist, counselling is not about “fixing” you, it’s about supporting you to feel safe, understood, and empowered.

We work from a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework that includes:

  • Creating emotional safety and trust
  • Moving at your pace
  • Honouring your cultural identity and lived experience
  • Building insight, resilience, and self-compassion
  • Supporting practical tools for everyday life

You are the expert in your own life. We walk alongside you.

Who This Is For

Our counselling is for women who:

  • Are supporting others in professional or personal caring roles
  • Have experienced trauma or violence
  • Feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected
  • Are seeking deeper self-understanding and healing
  • Want a space where they don’t have to “hold it all together”

What to Expect

Individual sessions are:

  • Private and confidential
  • Offered online or in person (if applicable)
  • 60 minutes in duration

We also offer structured short-term counselling programs (e.g., 6-12-session support) and longer-term therapeutic work, depending on your needs.
